Bio – While growing up in Belarus Olga Buraya-Kefelian learned knitting at the age of 4 from her mother, a professional seamstress. She acquired tailoring skills and understanding of clothing construction while helping her mother. In 2003 while traveling the world in service of her spouse’s military career she adapted her knitting hobby into a career in knitwear design that could be fulfilling from anywhere military life took them. She created imaginative yet versatile knitwear under the “olgajazzy” brand, established in 2006. Drawing inspiration from industrial and architectural fields, combined with her passion for European and Japanese design, Olga’s knitwear designs are infused with innovation. Her extensive design portfolio ranges from accessories to garments, balancing her love for texture and minimalism with technique-driven elements to bring us impeccably finished knitwear designs that can enrich the skills set of any knitter.
A published author of several books on knitwear, she resides in Alexandria, Virginia where she continues to build “olgajazzy” and collaborate with numerous yarn companies and magazines. Find her work at olgajazzy.com and across most social media platforms as @olgajazzyknits
