Beginner Socks with Ann Budd

Ann Budd has literally written the book on how to make socks so who better to teach you?   She is lending her expertise to teach us beginner sock classes all throughout April!

In this 4-lesson online class, Ann Budd will guide you through knitting  a basic top-down sock, at whatever size and gauge you want.  You’ll use your own foot and gauge measurements to create a custom basic pattern, based on basic top-down instructions in Ann’s book Getting Started Knitting Socks. Beginning with a flexible cast-on at the top of the leg, through a flap-and-gusset heel, and ending with Kitchener stitch at the toe, Ann will demonstrate every step necessary to make a perfect pair of well-fitting socks.

Class recordings will  be available for seven days following each class.

    • Week 1: how to measure gauge, determine foot size, fill out custom instructions, cast on.
    • Week 2: Heel flap and heel turn
    • Week 3: Gussets
    • Week 4: Toe, Kitchener stitch, and finishing

This class will be on Mondays from 5-6 on April 4, 11, 18 and 25 via Zoom.  Cost of the class is $95 and includes Ann’s book Getting Started Knitting Socks.

Each Zoom class will be available to view for one week.
