The Christmas tree is up!

This year, I really wanted to step up our Christmas tree game since we are in competition with some pretty creative folks around our downtown area.  Thank goodness for Pinterest, my Elna knitting machine and scrap yarns!

I knitted about 25 feet of fabric to wrap our little 6 foot tree.  Without my Elna it would have taken me weeks but instead it only took a few hours. It took just as long to get the tree wrapped and sewn, but it turned out amazing.  As you can imagine, there was quite a bit of heckling from the people on the street…yes, the tree is super warm this winter. HAR. HAR.

Yarn Donation 2017

It doesn’t look as impressive as last year’s haul but I am pretty sure we had just as much!  I didn’t get any donation pictures because it started raining on us and frankly, standing in the rain to grab a photo was the last thing on my mind!

If you aren’t familiar with our annual yarn donation,  every summer we collect yarn and other crafting supplies and we donate to the women’s ministry at the Southern Correctional Institution.

Yarn Donation 2016

This year’s yarn donation is HUGE!  We had such a great response! There were boxes, bins and bags all over the shop and we filled up the inside and the back of the transport truck!
